TOP 5 NUDE LIPSTICKS

Hello all,

So as christmas is coming up, and by now I'm sure everyone is super duper excited (I know I am) and this post isn't really christmassy but I figured if you're a lipstick enthusiast like myself, then you're probably planning on spending any christmas money or vouchers on makeup, so this post is all about my top 5 NUDE lipsticks (because who doesn't love a good cheeky nude)

Some of these colours are very similar but they're very different at the same time (because no two lipsticks are the same) and they range from drugstore to high end so i hope you enjoy!

KIKO smart lipstick - 901
The first one is this typical nude from KIKO. I don't really know how to describe this colour because it's so nude. It looks light, but on me it's kinda dark but on someone with a more tanned skin tone it would look very natural.
The consistency is so smooth and the colour is so pigmented! One swipe and you're sorted! It also lasts so long to say it's not matte and they have a really wide range of colours as well AND it's only £3.90 so i need to get my hands on some more of these!

MAC Angel
I have to say I think angel is my favourite nude lipstick ever. ( as you can see I'm at the bottom of mine) For me it's perfect 'your-lips-but-better' colour. It's a really natural pink colour and honestly looks so good on everyone! You could also make it bolder by using a lipliner. I also love paring this with a lipgloss like the NYX butter creams (creme brûlée)
These MAC lipsticks are a bit more pricey at £15.50 a piece but they're some of the best lipsticks you can get as they're so pigmented and they last such a long time as well as the bullet is a decent size!

MAC Plum Dandy
I looooove this lipstick so much! It's very different from the others because it's a darker nude. I feel like this colour isn't really known by a lot of people but it needs to be appreciated!
It's the most gorgeous pinky-purple with gold undertones which makes it look different depending on the angle and the lighting you're in. It is quite dark on me but it goes with every eye look and also is really nice if you just want that extra special something to complete a look!
Again it's £15.50 and is soooo pigemented!
I literally cannot get over how gorgeous this colour is everyone needs a lippy like this in their collection!

Rimmel Kate Moss - 901
This colour is very similar to MAC angel, however it's a bit brighter and more pink, if that makes sense...
The colour is so pigmented and has a matte finish, also it fits perfectly with the rimmel lipliner 'east-end snob'  so if you're looking for a really affordable matte lipstick that will last all day this is the one for you! I think it's around £4 but you can get them for cheaper, like £2.50 from outlet stores!

Sephora Lip last - 01 'Oh my beige!'
I bought this lipstick from Sephora when on holiday and I'm literally obsessed. If i could use one lipstick for the rest of my life it would be this colour! It's the most perfect nude and looks good on everyone, even vampires like myself.
I especially love the formula of this lipstick because they're sooo matte! And they're made to be water proof, super pigmented with high coverage and also have vitamin B in so your lips don't get dry and can be worn for over 10 hours without coming off! (and believe me it's has the staying power of cement it's amazing!
Also the bullet is a really good shape as it's small so you never put too much on or go outside your lips by accident!
These lipsticks cost $14 (around £10 ish) and are amazing! 100% worth buying!

Finally, here are some swatches of the 5 lipsticks. As you can see they are kinda similar (oooooops sorry not sorry) These were all from ONE SWIPE! JUST ONE! ahhh look how pigmented and amazing they are!

Thankyou so much for reading I hope you enjoyed! let me know what your favourite nude lipstick and what's on your christmas wish list!

Thanks again!

BATTLE OF THE BRANDS : CONTOUR KITS

Hello all,

So recently (in the summer) I purchased the highly recommended Anastasia Beverly Hills contour kit in the shade light to medium then last month or so i bought the Make up revolution ultra contour kit to see if it was as good as the ABH one! (because the ABH is so expensive and hard to get in this country I wanted another incase it ran out oops) SO I thought it would be fun to make a new lil segment where i compare high end and drugstore products to see which is best!

From the picture you can see the packaging for both of the two pallets. I love how simple both of them are and how you can clearly see the name, brand and shade of both the pallets. The ABH (Anastasia Beverly hills lol I'm just lazy) is in a matte black case which has all the shade names on the side and the Makeup revolution is also in a matte black case but it's gotten very dirty! (bc i use it so often oooops)

now you're probably wondering the price difference between the two products and it's quite a lot! The ABH kit costs $45 (idk how much in pounds sorry) and the MakeUp revolution kit costa £6!!!!! So it's deffo worth trying it out!
The picture above shows the packaging when the cases are off. Again the ABH is matte black and the Makeup Revolution one is shiny and both are dirty with fingerprints this time! No favouritism here!

So when you open up the pallets this is what you see. The MUR one has 8 colours (5 matte and 3 highlighters)  whereas the ABH pallet only has 6. (5 matte and 1 highlight) so the MUR is deffo worth the money because you get more than the ABH.
The pan size for both is about the same and is around 7 or 8 cm, so an average size, (3.0 grams)

The contour shades are virtually exactly the same. In both pallets there are 3 bronze/contour colours and two matte highlights, one yellow and one pink tone. In both there is also one pink subtle shimmer highlight and the MUR has another 2, one bronze gold and one very shimmery white/gold.

(I made this bigger so you can see clearer)
This is the Anastasia Beverly Hills pallet and you can see that the colours are very pigmented in the pan and also get a better look at them up close. (left to right, top to bottom: vanilla, banana, sand, java, fawn, havana)
I honestly love this pallet because the colours are so good for my skin tone (which is vampire.) and they are sooo crazy pigmented.
My favourite shades (very popular with most people) are Fawn  it's like the only contour shade thats not muddy and looks like natural cheek bones rather than bronzer because of its more grey and cool undertone, and Sand because it's very pretty and subtle and adds such a natural glow.
I'm not much of a under-eye highlight setting because I'm very pale anyway but i love vanilla because it does brighten my under-eyes just a little but banana is still too dark for me, and i have pink undertones so the banana looks very strange on me (because it's so pigmented which isn't a bad thing it's just all down to personal preference!)

This is the Makeup Revolution pallet. You can see the shades are literally exactly the same as the ABH pallet, which makes it an amazing dupe.
Again, the colours are all very pigmented but in this pallet i love the banana shade. It's not as pigmented as the ABH one which makes it better (weird i know) for my skin tone, as it's not as noticeable.
I also love the 3 highlight shades in this pallet because they're all different and quite pigmented. They aren't as pigmented as the ABH pallet, which is only expected in a drugstore pallet but omg they're still amazing. The pink shade is the same as Sand in the ABH, the golden bronze shade is quite similar to soft and gentle, just a little less glittery and more subtle and the white gold shade is really glittery and a bit more chunky, which is amazing for lasting all day and making you have a super strong highlight!

I swatched (very badly soz) the two most known shades in the ABH pallet (Fawn and banana) and compared them to the MUR, to show the difference in colour pay off.
As you can see the ABH is more pigmented and the contour colour is slightly more cool tone. However the pigmentation of the MUR is crazy to say it was only ONE SWIPE and it's a drug store product!

Finally, to complete this battle I shall announce the winner! (lol jokes)
Both of these pallets are amazing and if you're a make up fanatic like myself you should try them both out. However if you're looking for a dupe for the ABH contour kit I would deffo buy the Makeup revolution one because the ABH one is so expensive and you can get something very similar for more than a quarter of the price!
However the ABH does give a nicer finish and the colours are more pigmented, so I'll let you be the judge of which is better because for me they're both amazing for different reasons!

Thankyou for reading I hope you enjoyed this post, if you want more battle of the brands please let me know! What's your go to contour?

Thanks again!

BEST HIGHLIGHTERS FOR PALE SKIN

Hello all,

For todays post i wanted to talk about what is probably one of my favourite parts about make up, Highlighter! As if you're like me and aren't content with your face until you look like a disco ball you need to get your glow on!
Everyones gotta have that glow but for us pale skinned babes it can be hard to find one that isn't too light, or too dark, I always found it hard to find the perfect shade, so i decided to make this post to help some of y'all out! Also, these all look amazing on every skin tone, just the ones i have found work for my pale complexion!
Also, i was planning a november favourites but i didn't have much that varied from october, so instead i may do a christmas essentials or christmas prep!
I hope you enjoy!

the beauties
Elf  blush- gotta glow

This highlighter is AMAZING!
It's supposed to be a dupe for the NARS albatroz, but it's only around $3!
It is a golden yellow, which is sooooo pigmented it's crazy! On pale skin it shows up so clearly and isn't just glittery, its dewy and makes you look naturally highlighted. I love using this on my brow bone as well for this reason.
Also, if you love dewy skin, I think you could use this as a setting powder as it lasts all day! I jut love this sooooo much, and it's so cheap as well!

As you can see from the picture its crazy pigmented (thats just one swipe!) and the packaging has a little thin mirror in it! So you can see your cheekbones close up and brow bone as well! Deffo a need for my pale skin girls!

MAC - mineralised skin finish 'Soft and gentle'

This highlighter slays my whole existence, literally. If you wanna get that glow this will be your queen.
It adds such a stunning golden glow which stands out beautifully in the sun, or in the dark, literally you can see it everywhere! you only need one swipe of your brush to get a crazy pigmented and if you're like me and want to be seen from mars, this is the way to go!
I also love this because it doesn't look muddy or dark on us ghosts so its perfect to pack on, and it also looks stunning as an eyeshadow!

Milani belle eye shadow - Belle chiffon
I am v proud of this pic - look at that quality yaaaas
This beauty is actually an eyeshadow, because who doesn't love a multi-use product! (my purse deffo does)
This shade has a similar colour to the elf blush, however it's more golden white than yellow, meaning it's a bit more sheer but in the right light it's like BOOM!

In this pic you can see the shade a bit better, and how gorgeous it is! It's also a really good brow bone highlight!(well duh fern it's a eyeshadow)
In addition, its especially good for pale skin as it's a bit more cool tone than other eyeshadow highlights, which is what makes it perfect for cheekbones - also its amazingly pigmented! It also works when wet, so you can get even more pigment out of it!

Ted Baker - Pearly pink liquid highlight

This product is a bit different from the others (gotta get a good variety in there of course) as it's a liquid highlight, rather than a powder (like the benefit high beam)
Its a really pretty light pink colour, which when you blend it out gives a really natural looking dewy finish, but it looooks so nice topped with another highlight as well as just leaving it on it's own! You could also mix it with foundation or concealer or use it underneath to get even more glow!

Above you can see how it looks when it's first put on and underneath that you can kinda see it when its blended out (lighting was not my friend) I find that these kinds of products blend out best when a sponge is used, as it doesn't absorb too much of the product. this has to be my new recent fave because its so easy to use and gives a different look to the others!

Benefit - watt's up

Finally we have benefit's watt's up! This is again a bit different as it's a cream to powder finish, so you put it on, blend it and it sets like a powder! It's a lot like MAc soft and gentle, except it's a little bit more sheer and lighter!
I love this because it's easy to use and look at that packaging! It's so cute!
It's also quite pigmented but i like to put a couple strokes on to get the intensity which i like - which is human disco ball!

I hope you enjoyed this post, thanks for reading! What's your favourite highlight?

Thanks again
Fern :)

p.s who like my new design?! I have a new header as well as a pastel background, which i think is sooo cute and just reflects who I am! let me know what your think!
