Maybelline Mascaras review

Hello all,

recently I bought a couple of new Maybelline mascaras from boots and realised I have quite a few (4) and thought I'd do a quick lil review on them as some are my holy grail and others...not so much.

3/4 of these are the 'volume express' ones and the other is a new 'lash multiplying mascara'
So the ones I have (from left to right) are 'Big eyes volume express', 'The colossal Go extreme leather black', 'Lash Sensational' and 'the falsies' And all are in black and cost around £7.99 (I think)
(sometimes you can get brown ones or like coloured ones)

For starters I really like the packaging of all of them. especially the end 3, which are all very similar. The colour of them are all amazing, super black, which I love for a mascara. (duh)
However they can be a bit temperamental as the thing in the bottle that pulls the excess mascara off can break easily, and I've had to throw away a few (a moment of silence for them...) because it broke and I've ended up with black gunk everywhere!

I normally use a couple of these together as that gives me a look that I love, without having super clumpy lashes. They are all long lasting and hold the curl (as I curl my eye lashes)

The 'Big eyes' is one of my favourite. It has two different wands on either end, one for upper lashes and the other for lower. The upper wand is reasonably big, but not massive, and is slightly twisted in the middle, which allows your lashes to be coated fully and gives such good volume and separation, which makes for perfect lashes!
The lower wand is very thin and small, so its perfect to not get clumpy lower lashes. I love using this however you do have to go over your lower lashes a few times to get enough mascara on, but that's just me. I find when I use it, that its best to put mascara on lower lashes with the big wand, and spread it around with the smaller one, and it works a charm.
As there isn't a lot of product in the ends, as they're small, I found it ran out quite fast, but I still use the 'empty' wand to separate my lower lashes.

'The Colossal Go extreme leather black' is really good for volume and getting your lashes coated in mascara. I love it for that reason. When I first used this I found that it made my lashes feel really wet and they went a bit clumpy, but over time, as it ran out a bit it got a lot better. I personally wouldn't use this on its own, I like to pair it with a lengthening mascara to make my lashes look how I like.
I do really like the wand on this because it's smaller at the tip and gets fatter in the middle, which is good for getting in the inner corner. Also the stick of the wand has bumps in it which allows some of the product to be pulled off, so you don't get loads.

'The falsies' is very well known, as a lot of beauty gurus on YouTube rave about it, and it is worth the raves! It's brilliant. the wand fits perfects on your lashes so you can cover all of them. It's also really lengthening and volumising, it makes them clumpy, but not bad clumpy, if that makes sense? The wand also bends, which is really good for covering root to tip! I'm now on my second tube of this so it lasts a really long time!
I also think it's good for lower lashes as it fits perfectly on them and doesn't clump them up. I love to pair this with one or two of the others to get even more volume, but this is my Go-to mascara!
Also I just love the packaging and the cute little lace pattern on it!

Finally is the 'lash sensational' this is Maybelline's newest mascara and they claim that it 'multiplies' your lashes as well as adding volume length and separation, which is an awful lot to claim. So, I wanted to try it out for myself. (and it was on offer) personally, first of all I really wasn't impressed, it made me look like SpongeBob with about 3 eyelashes, and was really thick and clumpy. However I did try it again using 'the falsies' first and it was actually really good. But sometimes if I use too much it goes very clumpy and that's not a good look. It could just be because I have a specific way I like my lashes to look, but first impressions weren't great.
I really like the shape of the wand because its got small and big bits sticking off to add volume, and it fits to the shape of my eye really well.
I also love the packaging as the colour is really pretty!
If you have this and it works really well, please tell me as I'd love for it to be great on me too!

Overall, I think Maybelline Mascaras are really good quality for a drugstore product and they have such a wide range that there's likely to be one that's perfect for everyone! I think I'm going to buy a few for of them, as I know they have a lot more and try them out as well, because I love these so much!

WhiteHart - the cutest hotel ever

Hello all,

So on Monday we went to oxford for the day for my dads birthday and we stopped over night at the BEST hotel ever. The hotel wasn't it oxford, it was about a 40 minute drive from there.
The hotel is called 'The White Heart'

My parents found this place on 'secret escapes' and the deal ended up being soooo good compared to the price you'd normally haver to pay. And it meant we got a 3 course meal, and breakfast included.

I don't know what made me love this place so much, I think it was so pretty and cute and I loved how the rooms were like little buildings and I think that's what made it for me. the little things about the place. I also loved how all the room names had names like sweets. for example Me and my sisters room was called 'borbourn' (as in the biscuits) and my parents room was called 'honey' which I think is just adorable!

When we arrived the man at the reception (shout out to him for having a really cool accent) randomly upgraded my parents room so they were in the uber fancy suite.

Another thing that I loved about White Hart was the rooms. They we're so nice and the furniture in them was beautiful! The thing I loved most about them was that the bath and the sink was in the same room as the bed!

I must have said about a thousand times to my sister how much I loved the room, although at first it did smell like rotten eggs, but we later realised that it was the pipes around the room.

oh look there's me posing on the lovely furniture.

our parents room also had another little room that was like a living room with sofas and chairs in, their room also had 2 TV's whereas ours only had one. In addition the whole place had free wifi, which was soooo good!

Finally, the food. I think White Hart is mainly known for its food as its amazing, which we all took great enjoyment in eating, even though we couldn't fit through the door when we left! (metaphorically speaking of course)
as I said we got a three course meal and the selection was ridiculous! I wanted to try everything!

I went for cheesy garlic bread, Churchill burger and hot chocolate sponge. And as everyone knows, I'm a big fan of food, but even I didn't manage to finish everything!
Likewise with breakfast it was a buffet for cereal and drinks and you could order hot food, which we all did. So it's safe to say I need not eat for the next seven months!

The whole place was very photogenic so I took the chance and wandered around the whole place taking pictures, gaining a few odd looks from the staff and random people but it was so much fun! if you'd like to see more pictures I'll put some on my instagram!

Overall, I really did love this place and I recommend the deal if you're ever in need of somewhere to eat and stay near oxford.

Thanks for reading, I hope you enjoyed this little post. please follow me if you enjoyed and feel free to follow my social media!

chatty time and facing problems

Hello all,

so for todays post I thought I'd just have a nice lil chat. I do have a few ideas for some really cool posts but being this time of year, and living in England (we all know what British weather can be like) it's hard to find good lighting to take pictures in. Even though its starting to get a bit lighter, by the time I'm home from school its starting to get dark! So, I am trying my best to find time at the weekends to take photos.
However most of the ideas I have are reviews, or first impression type things, so if you have any other ideas on what I could post about, pleeeeeease let me know because I'm always open to new ideas!

For starters, school is stressing me out! We've just finished doing coursework in chemistry, which to be fair isn't that bad, it's just so much work! And we have science exams pretty soon and the thought of them just makes me so scared and worried! And believe me I'm really not the type to get worried at this kind of thing! But apart from that it's not too bad, I guess!

Lately I have been soooo obsessed and interested in photography, not just like of make up and all that (even though I do love that) I really enjoy taking photos of sunsets, and beautiful landscapes and just things like that, I don't know what it is about them, but I just think they're so fascinating! It's like the rain and storms and just weather in general, I think its crazy pretty and really interesting to just look at or watch. It's probably just me who thinks that but let me know if you get what I'm on about!

Recently (like the weekend that's just been) was Playlist live, and no joke, I wanted to go soooo badly! if it wasn't halfway across the world, and I had enough money, I'd beright on that before you could tell me other wise! It's crazy how many youtubers or viners people get to meet there! Hopefully, I can save up enough to go next year! (bearing in mind I said exactly the same thing last year, and the year before that)

Onto a more deeper note, I feel that recently I've become more aware of life. That sounds soooo silly but I think I understand things a bit more. In life there's always people who are going to annoy you, (believe me I know) or feel like their constantly picking or digging at you, but I've found that you just have to brush it off. I know, I know that's a lot harder than it sounds but it does work. In the wise words of Tay Tay  "haters gonna hate, hate, hate"
I also think that if you know yourself that you haven't done something, or that you know you're right, whatever it be, it will help you feel better about yourself and the situations that you could be put in.
For example if someone calls you 'overly opinionated' or 'stubborn' or something like that, just because you say your opinion you just say "you know what, yeah ok I am stubborn but I'm just saying what I think, and that's ok" and it is ok!
I feel a lot like that recently, like I'm always fighting to be right or whatever. However it is alright to feel like that, and you know what? Life goes on. If someone in your life is upsetting you or bothering you, keeping it in doesn't help, just makes it worse. The best way to solve your problems is to confront them!
I realise that probably none of that made sense, but I just had to get out what I was thinking! And that's the point of blogging thoughts isn't it? So tell me your issues! Maybe we can solve them together!

Finally, on a much lighter note, I'd like to say how excited I am for a few things! Like Valentines day! wooo! I really dislike valentines day. not because I'm alone or anything, (because I'm not lol) but I just don't think we need a specific day to love someone! Everyday should be lovin day! haha but really I think the point of it is missed, and replaced by gifts and things like that! But it does make great TV! (currently watching John Tucker must die on Sky movies so its a win-win)

I think that's about everything for now! Let me know if you liked this post and I could always do another soon! Please feel free to follow my social media cos I'm always up for a chat! Please follow if you enjoyed!

Thanks again!

January Favourites

Hello all,

It's finally February!
Am I the only one that's glad? January for me is the month of spending all your money that's left from christmas and I officially have none left! And whatever's left has gone into savings ahh! but I do love January as its the start of a new year and new beginnings.

Anyway this month I have a few new products that I've been loving and surprisingly there aren't that many beauty products! so lets start with the few that there are:

 Mac Prolongwear Concealer

oh my gosh! I can't explain my love for this! its so high coverage and one pump goes so far, which is great as its not cheap!
I'm in shade NW20 (I know super pale) I've used this nearly everyday for the last month or so and you cant even see a dent! so it's deffo worth the cost!

 Sleek Face Form - light

The colours are so pigmented and sooo pretty! the bronzer colour is perfect for bronzing and contouring and the highlight is so beautiful! I haven't used the blush loads, but I still think it so pretty and looks so nice.

 Barry-M nail varnish - Mediterranean

I have no words. this polish is just BEAUTIFUL. It reflects the light in a way that makes it change colour, so at one angle it looks a pretty pink and another it looks gold. So its a gorgeous rose gold colour in the middle and I can't get enough of it! It's been a must have on my nails this month!

Barry-M Nail varnish - Ballerina

This polish is the perfect nude pink colour for your nails, which is why I love it! It's so pretty and easy to wear. Also I've loved pairing this with the other Barry-M polish (as seen above) and they look perfect together!

Sally Hansen Insta-Dry Top Coat

lastly for beauty, I have this top coat. It leaves the nails with a nice glow, much like gel nails look I think, and dries the varnish underneath is soooo fast its ridiculous! I've had this a while but recently bought a new one as my old one ran out, and re-found my love for it! deffo recommend this if you want a good top coat.

MKTO

EEEEEK! I waited sooo long for them to release an album and now they have! My sister and I love them! She bought the CD in last month and it's all I've been listening to since! All the songs are so catchy and sing-along worthy, believe me, I would know! My personal favourite is 'Forever until tomorrow' so I recommend this CD to anyone and everyone because its just... it leave me speechless!

Fall Out Boy - Save Rock And Roll

This Album is the best thing since sliced bread, honestly! I actually got this for Christmas in 2013 and I've been in love with it ever since! yes, they are more on the 'loud' and 'rock' side but that what I love! the quality of music is so amazing and their songs truly fascinate me and I just love it so much! Recently fell back in love with it and I recommend you go and fall in love with FOB, as you wont regret it!

Topshop Joggers

MY BABIES! I love them so much! they're a similar design to the Nike ones that are raved about on tumblr and twitter but these are about £40 cheaper! They're so cosy and warm and perfect for me! I like clothes that are comfortable and easy to be lazy in and these are perf! (i'm currently wearing them right now) I was lucky enough to receive these for Christmas after going on about them for a whole year, so obviously, I haven't taken them off since!

Joss Sterling - Misty Falls

No words. At all. My favourite author, my favourite series. I can't even.
I finished it in like 2 days (more like 12 hours but stuff like school get in the way) So yeah this book is the 4th in a series by Joss and I love them! I think this may be my favourite... dare I say it! Its the kind of book where you fall in LOVE with the characters, and I did! So, yeah, deffo in the faves! ( I am doing a review on the series, so keep your eyes peeled for that!)

James Dashner - The Maze Runner

Aaaaaaaaand finally the maze runner....
So.Good. I was on edge the whole time I read this book! Yes, I have seen the film and No, they are nothing alike! well, they are obviously the same but a lot of aspects are very different! I fell in love with the main character (mainly because I was imagining Dylan O'Brien....) but yeah its very good and wirth the read!

Thankyou so much for reading! I hope you enjoyed! Please follow if you enjoyed!

BRILLIANT BLENDER

Hello all,

So recently my sister and my mum bought a fancy blender. We've seen these blenders all over Youtube and on various blogs and they decided it was about time to get one for ourselves. I can honestly say its amazing! It deffo lives up to the hype that's been going on about them.

There are a few different brands and models you can get but we got the 'Blend-Active' by Breville. My sister sourced a good bargain for it on amazon and cost her only £30!
I think it's soooo cool and so quick and easy to use.

The blender comes with several different parts: 2 small containers, 2 taller containers, 4 lids, the actual blender electric thing, and the lid with the blades on.
The idea of the blender is for it to be fast and easy, which it is!

The way it works is that you fill the container with all your ingredients, screw on the blade lid, attach it to the blender, and blend!

As well as the actual blending equipment, you also get this instruction manual that has some really nice and yummy recipes in!
You can use the blender to make all sorts of drinks like smoothies, milkshakes, all sorts of things.

My favourite smoothie is a fruity mix.
The ingredients I use are:
  • Strawberries
  • Bananas
  • Summer Fruits (raspberries, blackberries etc)
  • Strawberry yogurt
  • Orange juice

Then I cut all the ingredients (strawberrys, bananas, summer fruits, obviously I don't cut the liquids) into small pieces

When they're all small enough, I fill up the container to the max limit and pour in the yogurt and the orange juice.

Then I attach the blades to the container, shake it up a bit to get everything to the bottom, and attach it to the blender and BLEND.

I find I have to take it off and shake it sometimes to insure everything gets blended smoothly.

ET VOILA!

The nicest smoothie you will ever taste!

I love having this smoothie after swimming, as a healthy snack or just anytime really! It taste amazing and it looks pretty as well!

So, thankyou for reading and I hope you enjoyed! Please follow if ya liked it and want to see more! also feel free to follow all my social media!
Thanks again!
