April Favourites!

Hello all,

So another month gone. April has been such a good month for me, even though I have exams next month and I've been revising like a mad woman I've had a pretty good time doing so! I've also been shopping a lot so I have quite a few new beauty products I've been loving this month and some music bits!
The weather this month has been amazing (mostly) so I forced myself outside a couple of times and thought I'd go with a springy theme for this months favourites, so I took pictures outside in the lovely sun!

Taylor Swift - 1989

Holy cheese balls, this album! I love it sooo much! The songs are so catchy and I listened to this entire album everywhere! Literally. All the time. 24/7.
I love every song on it and I'm sure I annoy everyone when I randomly burst into song!
My fave songs are "style", "out of the woods" and "blank spaces"

Fall Out Boy - American Psycho/American Beauty

OMG! I am a big FOB fan and omg this album. They're so talented and the music behind the vocals is crazy good. The album has quite a range of different songs on, so its not all one type and every song sounding the same. Me and My friend hardcore jam to these songs on the way to swimming and even by myself!
My favourite songs on the album are "Centuries", "Uma Therman", "the kids aren't alright" and "AS/AB"

No7 special edition pallet

So, like a month ago my mum bought this pallet, as it was limited edition in boots and the colours are gorgeous, but she never used it! So I took it upon myself to borrow it (for the sake of the eyeshadow of course, the poor thing wasn't being used!) This pallet is amazing for everyday and evening looks, even thought there isn't a huge range of colours, it's still great!
I love the matt brown colour as it's cool tone and works really well for a transition shade, especially on vampire skin like mine! Also I love the highlight colour for the brow bone as its subtle and sparkly at the same time!
I think this pallet was only £11 as well so that's really good!

Rimmel - Brow this way (002 Medium Brown)

I'm a big fan of eyebrows, safe to say I like my brow game strong. So I love this product for adding an extra bit of texture and colour to them and also for lazy days or when I'm at work just to add a little bit of definition and volume to my brows!

Rimmel Scandal Eyes Eyeliner

I love wearing eyeliner, whether it's just to subtly define the eye or to do a good old wing (which I normally do on a day to day basis) And it's much easier to use liquid liner on a daily basis than gel, in my opinion because it's less hassle, and as the brush on this one is to thin it makes it so much easier to get a perfect line!

Essence Lipliners (06 satin mauve, 11 in the nude)

For starters the names of these are so cute! And also they're only £1! THATS CRAZY! I saw a blogger on instagram talk about these so I had to try it for myself! (I got mine from wilkos, it's like the only place in the UK that sell it) They're so pigmented and last all day! The variety of colours is amazing as well, so I will deffo be buying myself lots more of these!

Rimmel Great Lash (water proof)

I love my mascaras, and this one has been raved about so much, and it's worth the rave! Even though the wand is so tiny and small it's great for getting to the inner corners and lower lash line, also it adds loads of volume and it's so simple to shimmy along your lashes!

LA girl Pro.conceal - classic ivory

EEEEEK! I was so excited when I got this! It's hard to come by in this country but a shop in Birmingham (and online) called Cocktail Cosmetics sell it for only £5! Which is crazy good! The quality of this product is amazing for how cheap it is! It's so pigmented and blends out so easily and the coverage is great!

Baby lips - smoothing cherry

WOOOO! I found one of the cool baby lips that are like Japanese or something! They sell these in like those beauty outlets and it was £1,99. As you know, I love baby lips and this is my new fave! Its so soothing and makes your lips so smooth and it tastes amazing as well! So I'm now on a hunt to find more!

Essence long lasting lipstick (05 cool nude)

oooo another star essence product! Only £2.30 for this super pigmented, long lasting lipstick! The colour is like a 'your lips but better' and it's so smooth to apply and paired with the lipliner makes it last all day! Safe to say I'm now a bit of an Essence addict!

Gerrard Cosmetics lipstick - Nude

I've heard soooo many amazing things about these lipsticks on youtube and on blogs so I had to try it for myself! I got this from the same shop I got the concealer from, and I'm in love! The colour is a perfect nude for my skin tone. It has a kinda matt finish and its so pretty on! Worth the hype and I will be buying more of these!

Morphe G17 Blending Brush

I think I'm in love with Morphe! serious heart-eye-emoji when I got this brush (again cocktail cosmetics) They're so soft and so inexpensive and make anyone's makeup look perfect! I'm deffo going to invest my money into more of these brushes! So many people love them and I'm now joining the club of Morphe lovers!

So that's It for my favourites! Lots and lots of new makeup! I hope you had a good month, let me know your monthly favourites by tweeting me or a=on any social media!

How to revise: My tips and tricks

Hello all,

Exam season is dawning and I can say I'm soo not ready. Most people I know have been revising for the last 2 months and then there's me, writing a blog post when I should be learning all about science and worrying about my marks.
I only have 3 exams, which are all science so I'm not too worried as I understand it quite well, but it's still important to check over everything!
Everyone has a way to revise, but I find it so hard to actually focus and process any of the information.
So, I thought it may be helpful to tell you how I attempt to revise and how I prepare for Exams.

Revision guides

So for the exam system my school uses (Edexcel) they make revision guides that have all the info that we have to learn, which makes them great to revise from! You can buy them from Waterstones and online and they aren't that expensive either!
I think they're really helpful as they have pictures and jokes in, which is right up my street!

Revision Cards

EEEK! I just love revision cards. They make learning key words so easy and they look good as well! I like to use these for key words (like I said) and also to draw diagrams and small bits of info on.
These are really easy to make with card or you can buy them from WHSmiths and other stationary shops like that! And I like to take great joy in collecting as many as I can!

Coloured Pens

I think it's important to make your notes look nice, so you want to look at them, so you can learn from them, that's why I like to write in coloured pens and use highlighters etc... So I always make sure I have lots handy when revising

Know what you have to learn

I think its good to know what is going to be in your exam, for example a check list of what you need to know. Because there's nothing worse than spending aaaages trying to learn something and then it not even being on the test!

Distractions

When revising I always end up on my phone. It starts off as 'just checking' or 'I haven't been on in a while I need a break, so I try to keep anything that could distract me as far away as possible! However after a while the white paint on the wall soon becomes more interesting than what I'm trying to learn so I always make sure to have a break...

Breaks!

My favourite part of revising! After a while your brain starts to not process what your doing, so it's important to have a small break and work in intervals. So 20 minutes of hard learning then a 10 minute break. In the breaks I like to walk around aimlessly for a bit and maybe have a quick look on my phone!

Snacks!

Finally, snacks! I cannot concentrate on an empty stomach! Even if I've only just eaten I like to have a drink with me when revising, whether it be water or tea, and a little snack, normally some cut up apple or some sweets! I think it's helpful to keep your brain working!

So, if you have exams soon these few tips help! GOOD LUCK to everyone who has them I hope you do amaaaaazing! Let me know what your revision must haves are!

Beach bum - Holiday in Newquay

Hello all,

So last week we (me and my family) went on holiday for the week in Cornwall. (Newquay to be precise) The apartment we stayed in was literally on the beach. A 20 walk down a slope and 3 steps and BAM right on the beach. Safe to say I had an amazing time, and took advantage of the beautiful surroundings. I also learnt that the zoom on my camera is so good!
I thought it would be nice to share with you what we did and also some of the pictures I took!

As soon as we arrived we went straight out to find the best fish and chips shop, typical of us British. (and lets be honest who doesn't lone chips!) And it was then that we learnt that Newquay and wind are very good friends. Seriously I could have flew! Also that seagulls will rest at nothing to get what they want, which is most likely whatever food you have in your hand.

On the first day, we took a costal walk into the heart of Newquay and had a look around all the shops, which were mainly surf shops, which means bracelets, shorts and big jumpers! (my favourite)
In addition, on our walk home we got to see some people being rescued! I know that shouldn't sound exciting but it was very! They'd clearly gone into one of the bays when the tide was out, lost track on time and been caught and stuck in it when the tides came back in! So, the air rescue helicopter had to hover and a guy had to go out on the rope thing and get the people! It was crazy!
Thanks to my zoom I managed to get some good pictures!

On the second day we ventured up this cliff that was just off the beach we were staying on. It was quite a treck but the view was breath-taking. In the wise words of Miley Cyrus 'life's a climb, but the view is great'
I took great joy in taking as many photos as I could up there, and took advantage of the background for some posey pictures!

On Monday, as it was a bank holiday and all car parks and roads would be rammed, we decided to walk along another cliff/costal route to get to Water Gate Bay. The walk was beautiful, and very hot!
However once we were at the beach it was freezing! I've never been sat on a beach that was so windy wherever you went! But I did get a pretty nice hot chocolate out of the chilly weather!

Tuesday, we went into a town called Padstow and had the worlds best pasties! (check my instagram for the beautiful picture) I also got this beautiful henna on my hand (which stressed me out beyond belief as I didn't want to smudge it! Also we had an amazing dinner at the local pizza express!

I apologise for the bad pic but it's very hard to take it with one hand and a big camera

On Wednesday we went to Truro to do some SHOPPING! YAAAY! I do love a good look around boots and superdrug! I did pick up a few things on a 3 for 2 as well so, even better! We did then go out to a National Trust place for tea and cake! (a typical move for the Clarke family)

Our final day, Thursday, We went to Lanhydrock, and I melted. It was roughly 21 degrees Celsius and I was in black jeans, and a black jumper, and we were walking up hills and around in the open sun! However when we got back to the beach it was much windier and cooler. As it was our last night we wanted to watch the sunset on the beach, and it did our expectation justice! It was beautiful!

Finally on Friday we travelled the long journey back home! The traffic was crazy so instead of 6-8 hours it took us 10! And once we were home there was a lovely HUGE spider waiting in the hallway for us!

But overall I had an amazing time and holiday and I miss it already!

Thankyou for reading I hope you enjoyed reading about what we did! Please follow me and come for a chat with me on my social media if you want!

Thanks again!

March Favourites!

Hello all,

So, March is over! Is it just me or is this year going soooooooo fast? Easter is in 5 days! 5 DAYS! Before we know it it's going to be Christmas again!
But I'm really fed up with Winter and cold, so fingers crossed we get a lovely sunny spring!
Anyway this has been a pretty good month overall and I have a few things I've been loving this moth to talk about! There aren't many as it's been a busy one and I haven't bought anything new much, however I have been re-loving some older products and stuff!

Lets start off with the beauty:

Bourjour lipstick - Rouge edition shade 19 'corail en vogue'

I bought this lipstick quite awhile ago, from a local boots and this month I've really been loving it as an easy everyday colour to just pop on when I want something more than just Vaseline or whatever. It adds a really pretty subtle coral. It looks quite scary in the bullet, but it's so light and pretty looking.

L'Oreal Paris - True match foundation in 'Rove ivory'

I've heard so many good things about this foundation and I finally got it for myself! Eeeeeep! It's the perfect colour for me (which is hard to find as I'm a vampire)
and blends so nicely and evenly. I've used this basically everyday since I bought it! I love it so much and will continue to love it forever!

Ted Baker mascara

finally for beauty I have this mascara. This came in the set my sister got me for Christmas and I hardly used it when I first got it, as I didn't like it so much. But recently I've been loving it for my lower lashes as the brush is small enough to fit perfectly on them. I don't think its so great as an upper lash mascara, and the wand is really flimsy, but its really black so I love it!

Glee perfume

As for smells, this month I've been re-loving my glee perfume! I received this for Christmas a couple of years ago and only recently have I decided to start using it again! The small is quite fresh, (which is good as I really don't like fruity smells) and the spray dispenser thing means I can cover myself in it really easily! (jokes....but not really)

Ted Baker perfume

(I don't actually know the name of this, but I think boots sell them at Christmas on their 3 for 2 offer in packs of 3/4)
I got this ages ago as well, in a pack of two. I love to use this on an everyday basis (along with the glee one) as it smells amazing and I've gotten complements from people before on how good it smells (believe me it's amazing)

Arthur Miller - A view from the bridge

Oh My Gosh! I love this play so much! We've been doing it at school and I went to see it at the theatre and I love it so much! It's full of tension and drama, and even after I've pulled every word apart in English lessons I still love it! It's based in Brooklyn about a family whose cousins come over illegally from Italy and everything just escalates from there! Deffo worth the read and watch!

Taylor Swift - Speak now album

Finally, an oldie but a goodie! I constantly listened to this every morning whilst getting ready for school, in the car, eating my breakfast etc.. and I haven't got sick of it yet! It's full of songs that I could listen to 7 million times and still be able to listen to them 7 million more times after, if you get what I mean? My all time favourite song of life is on this album as well, 'Enchanted.' My faves on this album are 'the story of us', 'Enchanted' (duh) and 'sparks fly' however I do love all of them!

Thankyou so much for reading I hope you enjoyed! Please follow and follow me on social media if you want!
